Thank you Tricia:)
So, I’m at the Reds game last night and I ran into one of my most favorite brides ever. Tricia L. We had a great time catching up. I then realized she and her hubby had celebrated their one year anniversary just about a week ago. YAY!
People enter and leave our lives daily. Some have little if no effect, while other change our lives. Tricia is one of about 5 brides I have had the pleasure to work with who DID change me and my business for the better. I honestly had been doing what 90% of the other videographers were doing (using the same shots, same effects ect. blah blah blah). Still had that cool “heart effect” in the opening, YES, I was a little cheesy, I admit it. Our stuff was above average I thought. We were booking more than anyone else in Cincinnati at the time and couples were happy, but I was bored.
About 6 months prior to Tricia’s wedding, I had started to come out of my shell and take more chances in editing with different filters and shooting styles. My partner Dan was also really pushing me, because his stuff was getting more polished and I was really learning from him.
On our last detail meeting the Monday before her wedding, I asked Tricia about what music she liked and what all she wanted shot that day. “Be creative Matt, your an artist from what I’ve seen, so surprise me” she answered.
The following Hightlight Reel was a gift to Tricia. It was not part of her package and I did not charge her for it. It was my way of saying thanks to someone who paid me a kind word and let me be free to work the way I wanted. She told me later this was her favorite part of the whole production, it’s mine too.
I did thank you again Tricia last night at the game, but I will do it again here on the blog.
Thank you Tricia, you rock:)
Happy anniversary to you and Brian.
enjoy,
Matt

Matt,
This one still brings tears to my eyes, and I’m not even related to her! THIS is what separates you and your team from the masses. And this is why we couldn’t think of letting anyone else be with us to memorialize our day.
You truly are an artist.
Thanks for being so understanding as of late, and we can’t wait to see the masterpiece that we’re sure you’re going to create for us.
p.s. And I suppose we should all thank Tricia, too, for pushing you to trust your creative instincts. Thanks.

Matt,
What can I say that I haven’t already said a millions times? Every time I watch our highlights, it’s like the first time all over again. It’s like we were just there…like it just happened. It’s a piece of living art that Brian and I will have to cherish forever. You captured it beautifully, and for THAT you will be forever OUR ARTIST! It seems silly that you are thanking ME when I feel forever indebted to YOU for sharing with us such an amazing gift!
Our video is [by far] the most important, the most substantial, and most reflective memory that we have of our day; and I can’t even BEGIN to put a value on that.
And, for the record, your new stuff just keeps getting BETTER and BETTER!! It makes me want to get married ALL OVER AGAIN (to Brian, of course…HA!) just to be able to have another video to show for it.
…What are your thoughts on producing “A Baby Story” in 7 months? :o)
Yours,
Tricia
